Why doesn’t my sale show in Sales by Product when I use Add Manual Payment? Short answer

This is not a bug. The Point of Sale → Add Manual Payment action records a payment with no linked product.
Without a selected product, the sale is not counted by item and therefore won’t appear in Analytics/Reports → Sales → Sales by Product.

Where to find it instead:
Analytics/Reports → Sales → Sales by Category → Manual Payments (filter by date and, if needed, location).

Details & logic

  • Manual payment = free-form collection (optionally with a note) → no productexcluded from “by product” reports.

  • Manual payments are counted in sales, but they’re categorized under Manual Payments (a separate category).

  • Implications: no inventory impact, no assignment to a specific product/service, product KPIs not affected.

How to verify a specific case (same-day)

  1. Go to Analytics/Reports → Sales → Sales by Category → Manual Payments.

  2. Apply filters (Date, Location, Payment method if helpful).

  3. Locate the payment by amount, note, or user.

Tip: You can also check the transaction history from the related member profile.

Best practices (to make the sale appear in “Sales by Product”)

  • At checkout (Point of Sale), choose a product/service from the catalog and collect payment (instead of “manual payment”).

  • If you often sell miscellaneous items, create a generic product (e.g., Misc / Adjustment) so those sales surface in Sales by Product.

Path recap (clear labels)

  • View manual payments: Analytics/Reports → Sales → Sales by Category → Manual Payments

  • Avoid manual in the future: Point of Sale → select a product/service → Collect payment
