Why does a refund appear to be pending when no amount was ever charged?
In some cases, a client may see a pending refund on their bank statement, even though no money was actually charged or refunded.
🧾 Here’s what you need to know:
-
Sometimes, a payment is immediately canceled by a refund right after it is initiated.
-
When this happens quickly, the original amount is never finalized or withdrawn from the client’s account.
-
However, the bank may still display a pending refund as if a transaction had taken place.
-
This entry will automatically disappear from the bank statement within 5 to 7 days, and in some cases up to 30 days, depending on the client’s bank.
✅ Key takeaway:
-
This is not an active refund but a transaction that was canceled before completion.
-
No further action is needed on your end.
