Staff Clock-In/Clock-Out - Getting Started (Beta)

What is Clock-In/Clock-Out?

The Clock-In/Clock-Out feature allows your staff to track their working hours directly in FLiiP. Staff members can clock in at the start of their shift, take breaks, and clock out at the end. Managers can view, edit, and export all time entries for payroll processing.

Note: This feature is currently in beta and must be enabled by the FLiiP team


How to Enable This Feature

To get started with Clock-In/Clock-Out:

  1. Contact your Customer Success Manager or email support@myfliip.com
  2. The FLiiP team will enable the feature for your account
  3. Set up staff PIN codes (see below)
  4. Configure break payment rules (see below)
  5. Train your staff on how to clock in and out

Setting Up Staff PIN Codes

Each staff member needs their own PIN code to clock in and out:

  1. Navigate to Manage Staff > Staff List
  2. Click on a staff member to edit
  3. Locate PIN Code section
  4. Create a unique PIN code for the staff member
  5. Save changes

Repeat this for all staff who will use the Clock-In/Clock-Out feature.


Configuring Break Payment Rules

Decide whether breaks are paid or unpaid:

  1. Navigate to Manage Staff > Settings
  2. Find Break Payment Rules
  3. Choose:
    • Breaks are unpaid (default): Break time is deducted from total hours
    • Breaks are paid: Break time is included in total hours
  4. Review the preview examples
  5. Click Save

This setting applies to all employees and affects how total hours are calculated.

Example:

  • Shift: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM (9 hours)
  • Break: 1 hour
  • If unpaid: Total paid = 8 hours
  • If paid: Total paid = 9 hours

Permissions

The "Can manage staff timesheets" permission controls who can access the Timesheets tab.

By default, this permission is granted to:

  • Owners
  • Master Owners

To grant this permission to other roles:

  1. Navigate to Manage Staff > Roles
  2. Select a role (e.g., Manager)
  3. Enable "Can manage staff timesheets"
  4. Save changes
