Why am I seeing many credit-card payment errors, and how can I prevent card expirations?
Short answer
This isn’t necessarily a bug. Most errors come from insufficient funds / card limit reached, an expired card, or incorrect payment details.
You can see the exact reason by hovering over the error in the payments/transactions list.
Turn on the credit-card expiry reminder
To reduce failures caused by expired cards, enable the built-in automation:
Path: Communications → Automation Lists → Payments → Credit card expiring
Enable the automation and review recipients and the message.
Best practices

Ask the member to update their card as soon as they get the notice.

Make sure the member’s email/SMS info is valid so they receive the reminder.

When an error occurs, read the on-hover description to decide the right action (insufficient funds, expired card, incorrect data).
